Since

Here are a few new motifs I have been working on recently for a new fashion project called Since. My friend Erica and I have decided to make a mini fashion collection, she has designed some beautiful pieces for the collection and I'm so excited to have physical examples made up.

John Robshaw

I adore these textiles and home wear products by John Robshaw, I especially love the fact that they are block printed and hand embroidered.

Aino Maija-Metsola

Multi talented illustrator and textile designer Aino Maija-Metsola has become my new design muse. I think I'm going to start embracing bright bold colours after looking through her portfolio. I actually have a textile design brief from a client which will heavily feature watercolours, so I am feeling super inspired after looking through Aino's painterly patterns.

Secret of Marimekko

One day my house will become a shine to Marimekko. I really want these "Sock Rolled Down" hand blown glasses, the design is based on the Finnish phrase sukat makkaralla which describes the moment when you get home from a hard day and you pull on a pair of slouchy socks. Bliss.

Emma Block

Wonderful illustrator and lovely person Emma Block recently reached out to me and suggested that we do  collaborative project together. I have been an admirer of Emma's work for a while and I am so excited about working together. After sending some fabric off to her, I was delighted to see she has already used my textiles in one of her illustration pieces for an upcoming exhibition. I'll keep you posted once we really get this exiting project underway.

Ohh Deer

I created these designs last week during a bit of play time after working on a few designs for a client. I tend to have a lot more freedom and fun when I am designing for no particular reason, I guess because there is no pressure. Anyways I decided to enter the Ohh Deer notebook pattern competition with these designs. You can enter here. What do you reckon, would you buy a notebook with these designs on?

Visits

Paul and I went to the Barbican and The British Museum recently. We really should visit places like these more often considering we live so near central London.

Behind The Scenes

A great little insight to the creative process behind J.Crew taken from their blog.
